Job Description

The Compliance Officer is responsible for:
Assisting and supporting the business units/operating hubs/functions in complying with the regulatory requirements (laws, regulations and supervisory requirements (rules, codes and self-regulatory organisation standards)) applicable to it by facilitating the implementation, management and maintenance of the compliance methodology and execute compliance responsibilities on a global level.
To assist the Board and management in discharging their responsibilities to comply with applicable legislative, regulatory and supervisory requirements.
To ensure that the legal compliance processes are implemented within Business Units and Corporate Functions in order to facilitate effective regulatory compliance risk management within the business.
Keeping abreast of the global developments in regulatory compliance risk management and legislative changes, pro-actively creating awareness of regulatory compliance risk management processes through training and advisory services.
To ensure that Compliance risk mitigating measures are identified and implemented.
Ensure that compliance processes, structures, policies, procedures are developed and maintained and that there is a clear compliance culture adopted by Sasol.
To provide support and assistance to the Senior Compliance Officer.
Develop and maintain good relationships with all internal stakeholders.
Assist with ad-hoc compliance queries.
Provide compliance advice to the Business Units and Corporate Functions on the requirements stipulated within the compliance-owned policies, the regulatory control environment (existing and/or new) and the ways in which to minimise the impact of occurred compliance exposures.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

Regulatory Analysis
Assist Business Units and Sasol with analysis of current, future and amendments to regulatory requirements. Review and update the regional regulatory universe annually.
Assist the Business Units with the development of a Business Unit specific Regulatory Universe. Facilitate input into draft regulatory requirements which may impact the Business Units and Corporate Functions.
Review new business developments for compliance with regulatory requirements. Provide advisory services to line management relating to the impact of regulatory requirements on the business. Provide support to subject matter experts in respect of amendments to legislation or regulations.
Track global leading practice trends, regional regulatory trends, the Issues Log, report and escalate long outstanding compliance exposures.
Participate and facilitate workshops with Business Units for the development of Compliance Risk Profiles by providing input on regulatory requirements with the Legal adviser and risk business partner and assist with ad-hoc queries.

ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The role has to ensure that fuel deliveries are executed on time, accurate (in full), comply with quality requirements and conducted in a safe manner to customers throughout the Sasol retail & Commercial network.

Handle governance and risk for energy business services.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
Record, manage, and mitigate risks on the level of EBS.

Render risk management services according to risk management principles and theories in line with the annual Risk Management Plan (RMP).

Handle national and international bid submissions to the supply chain fairly and objectively as per bid procedure daily.

Guarantee service continuity for EBS. Plan, test, and execute service continuity activities.

Arrange Delegation of Authority (DoA) and annual DoA letters in EBS.

Coordinate access and authorisations including profile system access on ERP systems (e.g. SAP and Ariba). Control the list of movers, joiners, and leavers and their access and authorisations.

Verify that movers, joiners, and leavers profiles are correctly assigned and that risks are mitigated.

Manage purchase group requests using IM. Grant IM approval to proceed with changes and validate that correct information was captured across SAP instances before allowing calls to be closed.

Maintain purchase groups data spreadsheet and log calls. Confirm completeness of information provided to IM and approve changes.

Ascertain that correct release and acting authorities have been assigned and approved.

Manage delegated authorities regarding MIGO_GR Stock deviations.

Help IM and SCS with securing that SAP release and MIGO_GR stock deviations access adhere to DoA.

Facilitate approval and sign-off of the bi-monthly matrix.

Review Segregation of Duties (SOD) report.

Remove conflicts for user groups regarding SODs.

Verify that the correct user groups are assigned for reporting and supporting access and authorisations SOX control.

Provide support to IM and EBS clients to confirm that SOD risks are mitigated and comply with requirements and Delegation of Authority (DoA).

Implement governance-related Management of Change (MoC) processes.
