Digitising selected library materials;

Administration and support of the e-journal management platform;

‘n Baccalareus graad in Biblioteek- en Inligtingkunde, of ‘n Baccalareus graad plus ‘n nagraadse diploma in Biblioteek- en Inligtingkunde of ‘n gelykwaardige kwalifikasie;

‘n Minimum van drie jaar toepaslike ervaring in n akademiese of navorsingsbiblioteek;

‘n Hoë vlak van rekenaargeletterdheid;

Kennis en ervaring van digitaliseringsprosesse en -praktyke;

Kennis en ervaring ten opsigte van digitale bewaarplekke;

Kennis van e-joernaalbestuurstelsels en -praktyke;

Goeie mondelinge en skriftelike kommunikasievaardighede.

A Baccalareus degree in Library and Information Science, or a Baccalareus degree with a postgraduate diploma in Library and Information Science or an equivalent qualification;

A minimum of three years’ relevant experience in an academic or research library;

A high level of computer literacy;

Knowledge and experience of digitisation processes and practices;

Knowledge of, and experience in, working in digital repositories;

Duties/Pligte

  • Developing, managing and communicating an integrated marketing plan for the University in line with SU’s Vision 2040 and Strategic Framework 2019-2024 and Institutional Integrated Marketing and Communication Strategy;
  • Ensuring the development and effective implementation and evaluation of all processes, policies, protocols and guidelines related to marketing, branding, stakeholder relations, institutional (corporate) events management and student recruitment;
  • Developing and managing the execution of an annual calendar for marketing, branding, institutional/corporate events and student recruitment activities;
  • Conducting market research, including trend and competitor analyses in the higher education marketplace, to feed into and, where necessary, adjust the marketing plan;
  • Ensuring and managing appropriate marketing communication tools and channels to increase SU’s public profile and visibility, both nationally and internationally;
  • Driving the implementation of marketing and branding campaigns to position SU as a leading institution;
  • Working in close collaboration with the Corporate Communication team in the Division to ensure message consistency in line with the institutional core narrative;
  • Establishing partnerships with the University’s faculties and professional support services environments to ensure an integrated approach to institutional marketing;
  • Applying applicable metrics to measure the impact of and return on marketing investment;
  • Compiling and administering a comprehensive marketing budget in line with the marketing strategy and plan, and in compliance with institutional policies and procedures;
  • Facilitating and managing the tendering and appointment process of, as well as the service-level agreement with, a suitable public relations and advertising agency to support SU’s brand-positioning and reputation-building initiatives;

Qualifications and Experience

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

  • A relevant B degree or equivalent qualification in business management, marketing and/or branding, marketing communications, or a similar field;
