Senior Scientific Officer
  • Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences, immunology, microbiology or related field.
    • 2 or more years of experience in a research laboratory, post undergraduate qualification, in current techniques in
    immunology including cell culturing, flow cytometry and ELISA.
    • Experience with molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA extractions, PCR, recombinant cloning and protein
    purification.
    • Experience with formal scientific writing and reporting.
    • The ability to perform experimental set-up and validation.
    • Standard data analysis and interpretation skills.
    • Willingness to work with samples from humans with infectious diseases.
    • Ability to communicate and work well in a team.
    • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
    • The ability to prioritise large volumes of work and meet deadlines efficiently.
    • The ability to conduct day-to-day operations of data collection activities in a large research project.
    • Good decision making and problem-solving skills.

Senior Research Officer: Climate Change and
Health
PhD degree in a relevant discipline
At least 3 years’ work experience post PhD, with a research track record in climate change and/or health.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Excellent publication track record, with evidence of recent productivity and high impact publications, commensurate with career stage.
Capability to lead or co-lead interdisciplinary and/or transdisciplinary team research projects.
Track record of securing independent funding for research, commensurate with career stage.
Track record of postgraduate co-supervision at Masters and/or PhD level.
Excellent data science skills, including advanced analysis, data visualization, and data management.
Experience with science communication at workshops and/or conferences and with the public and/or decision-makers.

Senior Research Officer / Chief Research Officer: Climate Change Literacy PhD degree in a relevant discipline.
At least 4 years’ work experience post PhD, with an excellent research track record on climate change risks and climate change literacy.
Experience co-leading interdisciplinary and/or transdisciplinary team research projects.
Track record of securing funding for research.Track record of postgraduate supervision at Master’s level.

Significant Principal Investigator track record or evidence of significant organizational or programme management in climate change research, consulting or other policy relevant environment.
Excellent data management skills for synthesis of existing data sets, analysis and prediction of climate change impacts, risks and assessing adaptation options.
Experience with science communication at workshops and/or conferences, and with the public and/or decision-makers, and contributing to media articles, public speaking, media interviews.
Experience as an education professional in primary and/or secondary education environment, or experience in policy or other decision-making support in the context of primary or secondary education.
