Job Description

Key Performance Areas:

Develop strong business relationships with key customers;
Network in the key industries where products are supplied;

Increase value added services to customers: ie Safety & Technical support;

Job Description

Job Purpose

To provide security and protection for the Corporation and all other stakeholders, local and international. To comply with all Constitutional and legislative obligations as well as regulatory requirements, in addition, international agreements in terms of security and protection of Corporation’s installations, sites, premises, materials, employees and visitors. Performing Access and Egress control duties during a Shift for all Necsa allocated operational entrances, exit and facilities.

Effective Access control and searching in line with Necsa procedure;
Conduct assigned security functions within Necsa site;
Handling and response to all security incidents;
Compliance with security standards (statutory and Necsa specific);
Asset management; and
Administration duties.

Qualification & Experience

General
Valid driver’s license: Code B or higher.

English: At least first or first additional language.

Professional

NKP certificate of competency.
National Certificate General Security Practices SAQA 58577 NQF 3 with NKP specialization part qualifications/ALTERNATIVELY
Any SAQA equivalent or better security related qualification with at least the same credits and at the NQF level security related qualification/part qualifications including NKP specialisation.

Experience

At least three (3) years’ armed security officer experience.

Job Description

      • Key Responsibilities:-
          • Schedule and service board meetings and Necsa Executive Committee Management meetings in line with PFMA requirements or submissions.
          • Provide secretarial services for statutory meetings in consultation with the respective chairpersons of Governance structures to ensure that it is accurate and appropriate. (Producing agendas, taking minutes, conveying decisions, handling meeting correspondence and so on).
          • Compile Board documents and forward to relevant parties in accordance with the submission requirements of any such meetings.
          • Keep up to date with any regulatory or statutory changes and policies that might affect the organisation.
          • Formulate legal opinions to advice the Board on relevant legal questions raised during and outside of the meetings.
          • Implement processes or systems to help ensure good management of the organisation or compliance with legislation.
          • Produce meeting minutes that are accurate and reflect integrity.
          • Ensure actions and matters arising are addressed or completed.
          • Provide support to the board or other committees on specific projects as and when required.
          • Forward Necsa Board approved Shareholders compact to the relevant Executive Authority.
          • Ensure that all compliance issues are addressed, e.g. quarterly reports from Necsa group to shareholders, PMFA regulations.
          • Coordinate induction and corporate governance training for Board members;Make arrangements for Board members local and international travel and accommodation;Handle relevant audit queries in a professional and knowledgeable manner to avoid negative audit findings.Coordinate the conducting Board performance assessments and submit relevant reports to DMRE.Manage the Group Company Secretariat and ensure that any other miscellaneous administrative functions associated with Group Company Secretariat is completed to ensure good corporate governance and a positive image of the Necsa Group.
          • Routinely coordinate annual AGM meetings of the Board with stakeholders;
        • Provide advice to Board members and Executive Committee on corporate governance statutory provisions and compliance to relevant statute;
        •  Manage the Group Company Secretariat budgetAct in good faith and avoid conflicts of interest and ensure that appropriate guidance is provided to the Board on these matters (i.e. Declaration of interest, confidentiality);
        • Ensure the Board’s policies and instructions are communicated to the relevant persons in the entity and that pertinent issues from management are referred back to the Board where appropriate; and

        In accordance with Necsa Insurance Company Ltd Employment Equity goals, preference will be given to individuals who meet the job requirements and are from the various designated groups.

          • • Sound knowledge of Commercial Law as well as primary legislation applicable to a nuclear environment, e.g. PFMA & Treasury Regulations, Companies Act, King Code on Corporate Governance and associated statutes and/or regulatory framework.
